The Engineer is the first of the two keepers. He has a simple, but powerful drill to mine with.

Mining

The Engineers' drill works on a single tile, until it is fully destroyed. In order to mine a tile, the player needs to get close enough to it, basically trying to collide with it. Upon hitting it, the keeper will bounce back a bit.

Tiles have "health" that changes between biomes and rock hardness. A tile can be hit every 0.35 seconds.

Movement

Engineers' movement is straightforward - quickly accelerates to the top speed and stops quickly.

Carry

To pickup an object, the player must be close enough to it. An outline around the edges of the object will appear when the player is able to pick it up. Picking up is done with the pickup keybind(Space by default) and dropping is done with the drop keybind(Q by default).

Slowdown

Carrying objects like resources and gadgets will slow down the Engineer.

Carrying N resources will result in a carry size of: N * (N + 1) / 2, the sum of 1 to N.
carry slowdown = 0.01 * speedLossPerCarry * carry size
max speed = max speed * (1 - carry slowdown)
carry slowdown is a percentage, represented in decimal, and when over 1, the keeper will stop

Resource carry line breaks when longer than 6 blocks. i.e., resources farther away than 6 blocks will be dropped.
